WebObsidian is very brittle. I'd suggest chipping on a 1-5 or 1-6 vs metal armor, breaking on a natural 1 completely. Vs others, chipping on a 1-3. If it chips on a natural 1 while already chipped, the weapon breaks. Instead of changing die size from chipping, simply apply my suggestion from the first bullet in reverse.
